Solution: The result of this project is a 20 page booklet covering the history of the manicure, trending styles over time, basic information on types of manicures and tools, as well as detailed, step-by-step instructions accompanied by illustrated guides. Since this guidebook is intended for beginners, illustrations were an important asset to include because visual guides are oftentimes easier to understand than just text instructions on their own. This project allowed me to gain experience in working with editorial layouts in InDesign, as well as create a visual guide using informational illustrations.
Objective: The goal of this project was to create a comprehensive guidebook on a familiar topic. Painting your own nails at home requires a lot of patience and practice, and is a skill I've become proficient in over the years. This guidebook serves as a starting place for beginners to learn about at home manicures.
